COOK (Food Service Worker) Opportunity

Provo Canyon School, with locations in Provo and Springville, is hiring a Cook/Food Service Worker to join our talented Nutrition and Dietitian team. We are hiring for a full‑time position (40 hrs per week) with a salary of $17.00 per hour with a full benefits package.
Work schedule will include rotating shifts: mornings, evenings and weekends.

• Prepares wholesome and attractive meals according to menu established by Dietary Manager. Meal preparation may include breakfast, lunch brunch, dinner meals, and/or for special functions. Ensures that items necessary for menu are in stock and available for use two days in advance
• Ensures that food is served at the appropriate temperature, in adequate serving sizes, and without delays. Does not serve food that has been over‑ or under‑cooked, burned, or inappropriately seasoned.
• Observes all safety and sanitary regulations in the preparation of food, storage of food, and cleanliness of preparation and serving areas. Wears clean uniform, hair net, plastic gloves, etc. Maintains cleanliness of the food preparation area, including floors, tables, and equipment
• Responsible for the set‑up of the serving area including steam tables and salad bar. Serves and/or supervises meal service during work shift.
• Ensures that off‑limits areas and items (such as knives) are secured and inaccessible to students or unauthorized staff.
• Is responsible for daily accurate inventory control to facilitate accurate ordering and inventory reporting.

• Minimum of ONE YEAR experience as a cook REQUIRED
• Must be open to working at either campus weekly (Provo & Springville)
• MUST be at least 21 years of age or older to apply REQUIRED
• Must be able to pass a criminal history background check and drug screen
• Current Utah Food Handlers Permit and or current Serv‑Safe Certification
