Bus Driver Merit Preparatory Academy – Springville, Utah Position Summary Merit Preparatory Academy is seeking a safe, reliable, and student-focused Bus Driver to provide transportation for students to and from school, school activities, field trips, and other authorized events. The Bus Driver plays a vital role in ensuring students are transported safely while maintaining a positive and professional environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely operate a school bus in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Transport students to and from school, extracurricular activities, athletic events, and field trips.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.

Maintain order and appropriate student behavior while on the bus.

Ensure student safety during loading, unloading, and transportation.

Keep accurate records of routes, mileage, incidents, and inspections as required.

Communicate effectively with school administrators, parents, and transportation staff.

Follow emergency procedures and respond appropriately to accidents, weather conditions, or other unexpected situations.

Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the bus interior and exterior.

Attend required training sessions and maintain all necessary certifications and licenses.

Qualifications Valid Utah Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements or ability to obtain required endorsements.

Current DOT medical certification.

Clean driving record and ability to pass background checks, drug testing, and any state-required screenings.

Ability to work effectively with high school students.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Dependable, punctual, and safety-oriented.ebm
