Role DescriptionDanielle Autos is seeking an experienced self‑employed mechanic/vehicle technician to join us starting April 2026 on a full‑time, on‑site basis at our St Albans location. This role is suited to someone who is confident working independently across all makes and models.
You will be responsible for carrying out routine and preventative maintenance, diagnosing faults, and completing mechanical and electrical repairs to a high standard. Day‑to‑day duties include troubleshooting mechanical issues, ensuring vehicles operate at optimal performance, and maintaining equipment in line with safety and industry standards. While the role requires independence, effective collaboration with the wider team and adherence to company procedures are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Servicing vehicles to manufacturer and industry standards
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Carrying out repairs including brakes, suspension, engines, clutches, timing/wet belts, etc.
- Using diagnostic equipment to accurately identify issues
- Completing work efficiently and to a high standard
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
- Proven experience as a mechanic or vehicle technician
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently without supervision
- Confident working on all makes and models (multi‑franchise experience essential)
- Driving Licence
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
- NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent
- Experience with hybrid and electric vehicles
- Competitive pay (depending on experience)
