Senior Audio Visual Engineer – Smart Home Automation
We are seeking an experienced and highly technical AV Engineer to join a forward‑thinking smart home and AV integration company. This role focuses on residential, commercial, and hospitality installations, delivering world‑class systems that combine robust networking, quality components and seamless design.

About the RoleThe Senior AV Engineer will perform hands‑on installation and programming, mentor junior team members on‑site and collaborate closely with project managers to lead AV installations. The role requires direct client interaction, building strong relationships, and coordinating with other trades.
Key Responsibilities- Lead AV and smart home installations on client sites
- Install, commission and program high‑end AV and home automation systems
- Interpret wiring schematics and technical drawings
- Build, install and test AV racks
- Conduct troubleshooting and fault‑finding on site
- Mentor and manage junior engineers during projects
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure a seamless installation process
- Strong practical skills and understanding of construction techniques
- Excellent problem‑solving and fault‑finding abilities
- Ability to interpret wiring schematics and technical drawings
- Good IT/networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routers, access points)
- Strong client‑facing and communication skills
- Experience with Control4, Crestron or similar automation systems (programming a bonus)
- Hands‑on experience with AV installations, including video matrix systems, lighting control and networking solutions
- Familiarity with brands such as Lutron, Rako, Blustream, AVPro Edge, Ubiquiti and Ruckus
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
- CEDIA or AVIXA certification (advantageous but not essential)
- Competitive salary £35,000 - £45,000 (dependent on experience)

Standard hours:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with flexibility for project requirements. Occasional overnight stays may be required but kept to a minimum.
