Overview

The City of Saint Anthony is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support the City’s payroll and financial operations.

Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
  • Review payroll reports, maintain payroll records, and prepare payroll-related journal entries.
  • Submit payroll-related remittances, including benefits, retirement, and deferred compensation contributions.
  • Coordinate payroll changes and data updates in collaboration with Human Resources.
  • Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and departments.
  • Support general accounting functions, including general ledger entries, reporting, and audit preparation.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential financial records.
  • Provide backup support for utility billing and other Finance Department functions.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of payroll processing experience; municipal experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting and finance practices in municipal government, or an equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the city.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and commitment to confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years of municipal government experience.
  • Experience with payroll systems; ADP experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or registration as a CPA.
