Position Title: Instructional Para

FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt

Hours: Monday thru Friday, 6.5 hours/day

Substitute Dates: January 19 – March 5, 2026

The Instructional Parapris responsible for supporting the classroom teacher and working with individual students as well as small groups. May also include supervising and positively interacting with students during lunchtime and recess, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to managing the responsibilities of providing an outstanding experience for a diverse student population, contributing to a positive school climate, and using restorative approaches to help students solve problems.

• Student Supervision and Teacher Assistant
  • Oversee students in the classroom and assist with individual and small groups of students.
  • Interact positively with students, promoting respectful behavior and conflict resolution.
• Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with school staff to manage student behavior and create a supportive environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families to maintain a positive climate.
• Behavior Management
  • Utilize restorative practices to address and resolve conflicts among students.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and support students in developing problem‑solving skills.
• Additional Duties
  • Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

• Ability to supervise and engage with a diverse student population.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to high professional standards and a positive school culture.
• Experience or willingness to learn restorative practices for conflict resolution.

• Salary
  • Hourly Range: $20.24–22.20/hr
  • Hourly placement is based on experience, as per district guidelines.
