Salary InformationSalary will be determined in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement, based on the candidate's education and experience.
Duties and Responsibilities- Instruct communication courses to students enrolled in a variety of programs.
- Plan and deliver course objectives.
- Evaluate and assess student learning.
- Organize and manage instructional materials and the learning environment.
- Provide academic advice to learners relating to their programs and courses.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Bachelor of Education Degree (Secondary or Post-Secondary).
- Bachelor's degree with a major in English or Communications.
- Knowledge of core communication concepts and principles.
- Ability to facilitate learning and deliver instruction.
- Proficiency and/or willingness to embrace teaching and learning technologies.
- Commitment to teaching excellence and supporting and delivering a positive student learning experience.
- Ability to effectively exchange information.
- Ability to work independently and manage time and tasks.
- Decision making skills.
- Relationship building.
- Professionalism.
- When requested by the Employer, a recent and satisfactory Certificate of Conduct must be provided.
- Verification of credentials and applicable licenses, certifications, and/or professional memberships as required for the position.
- Credentials obtained outside of Canada will require an evaluation to determine their Canadian educational equivalency. This evaluation must support the educational requirements for the position.
- Acknowledges the requirement for participating in ongoing training and professional development, including the completion of courses required for Post-Secondary Instructor Certification as specified for instructors.
- Acknowledges the requirement for maintaining applicable licenses, certifications, and/or professional memberships as required for the position.
- Acknowledges that courses may be assigned outside the instructor’s regular area of instruction based on their qualifications.
