Position Title: Lunchroom/Playground Supervision and Instuctional Assistant Para Educator

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

FTE: 1.0

Hours: Monday thru Friday, 6.5 hours/day (1.5 hours lunch/5 hours instructional para)

Start Date: 08/24/2026

Job Summary: This position is responsible for supervising and positively interacting with students during lunchtime and recess, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for approximately 1.5 hours/day. The other 5 hours/ day will be spent in the classroom supporting the classroom teacher. The ideal candidate will be committed to managing the responsibilities of providing an outstanding experience for a diverse student population, contributing to a positive school climate, and using restorative approaches to help students be engaged learners and problem solvers.

• Student Supervision:
  • Oversee students in the lunchroom and playground, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Interact positively with students, promoting respectful behavior and conflict resolution.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with school staff to manage student behavior and create a supportive environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families to maintain a positive cli
• Behavior Management:
  • Utilize restorative practices to address and resolve conflicts among students.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and support students in developing problem-solving skills.
• Additional Duties:
  • Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

• Ability to supervise and engage with a diverse student population.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to high professional standards and a positive school culture.
• Experience or willingness to learn restorative practices for conflict resolution.
• Associated degree or 60 semester credits preferred.

• Hourly Range: four lunch/playground hours-$, for instuctional para hours $
• Hourly placement is based on experience, as per district guidelines.
