Pay:
Hourly $21.25 – $36.15 (starting range $21.25 – $23.25).
Role:
Specialty Sales Team Leader – responsible for leading a team of hourly consultants in a specialty department, ensuring top‑notch guest experiences, operational excellence, and store sales goals.
- Deliver consistent guest experience commitments and model Target’s guest service culture.
- Train, coach, evaluate, and retain team members, including conducting interviews and hiring.
- Plan daily/weekly workload, merchandising sets, planograms, sales plans, events, and promotions to meet sales and guest engagement objectives.
- Monitor financial and operational metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and align the team on behaviors and execution.
- Maintain compliance with safety, security, and regulatory requirements; report incidents and injuries promptly.
- Lead store‑level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities when required and handle store emergency needs.
- Support back‑room processes, inventory management, and visual merchandising across assigned areas.
- Assist with compliance duties such as back‑up cashier, order pick‑up, and Drive‑Up services.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
- Support team in using department tools (e.g., fitting rooms, testers, displays) to provide personalized recommendations.
- All other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Enjoy interacting with guests and teammates.
- Thrives in a fast‑moving, highly active, and physically demanding environment.
- Open to a variable work schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age 18.
- Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and hold others accountable.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to use multiple devices and handheld scanners.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and remain focused under pressure.
- Strong customer service orientation and respect for diverse guests.
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
- Handle cash register operations accurately as needed.
- Climb and descend ladders as required.
- Move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 15 lbs routinely and up to 44 lbs occasionally.
- Maintain flexible and reliable attendance, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions while performing duties such as Drive‑Up or carry‑out.
- Remain mobile throughout the scheduled shift.
