Responsibilities
The candidate will provide engineering support for the maintenance and operation of the support equipment (SE) required to process the D5 weapon system at SWFLANT in Kings Bay, Georgia. The job functions include engineering support and technical guidance associated with the design, modification, maintenance, fabrication, installation, testing, and review of equipment and installations such as:
Conduct engineering investigations to enhance SE reliability, operating effectiveness, and product quality. Monitor service logs on a periodic basis and evaluate repetitive discrepancies for corrective action. Prepare weight test instructions and determine frequency requirements for SE. Review, investigate, and provide comments on suggested improvements related to processing and support operations. Provide safety engineering guidance related to missile and reentry system hardware, procedures, processing, and personnel safety.
Provide assistance on SE alteration accomplishment and subsequent proofing as required. Review proposed changes and prepare recommended changes to processing documentation. Prepare and recommend equipment modification requests for Contractor and Government-owned equipment. Determine proofing requirements and provide proofing instructions as applicable for SE, following alterations. Provide engineering review for configuration modification/change to SE. Provide special technical studies. Prepare and recommend disposition for deviation and waiver requests.
Maintain technical liaison with Contractor, Associate Contractor, and Government design, production, quality assurance, and materiel organizations. Provide engineering review and disposition recommendations for discrepant SE hardware. Ensure compatibility between processed items, processing documentation, missile SE, and test and inspection plans/procedures. Provide failure diagnosis and recommend corrective action on all SE malfunctions. Develop, prepare, and maintain concepts, criteria, designs, specifications, documentation, and acceptance procedures for acquisition of new or modified SE.
Support the closed loop corrective action system for deficiency resolutions of SE problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited college.
- You will need to be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret DoD Security Clearance to support this government contract. No clearance is required to apply. An Interim Secret Clearance is required prior to start.
- Demonstrated competency in troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Familiarization with test and data collection instruments.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
- Experience with design and design concepts of industrial electrical and/or electronic systems.
- Proficiency in Creo or similar 3D modeling software.
- Familiarity with the function and programming of Programmable Logic Controllers.
- Familiarity with the function of Variable Frequency Drives.
- Demonstrated knowledge and troubleshooting proficiency with HVAC systems.
- Industrial mechanical competency.
- Familiarity with industrial hydraulics.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
- Must be willing to work around ordnance.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills (oral and written).
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
