JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing grant writing and management of grants for the City in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles associated with grants administration.
MAJOR DUTIESThe City Manager assigns work in terms of general instructions. The supervisor reviews work through conferences, reports, and observation of department activities.
GUIDELINESGuidelines include federal and state rules and regulations, city ordinances, and city and department policies and procedures. These guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK- The work consists of varied grant writing and management duties. Strict and complicated grant guidelines contribute to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to apply for and manage grant funding for the county and other local governments. Successful performance contributes to the receipt and management of grant funds.
- Contacts are typically with other city personnel, elected and appointed officials, representative of granting agencies, representatives of community organizations, and members of the public.
- Contacts are typically to exchange information, resolve problems, motivate or influence persons, provide services, and to justify, defend, or negotiate matters.
- The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects.
- The work is typically performed in an office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree required; and
- Three or more years of successful grant writing, data analytics, and grant administration experience.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and private funding sources, proficient in working with project teams, familiar with federal grant regulations, and.
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.
- Possession of a valid state driver’s license issued for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
