Overview
Georgia-Pacific is seeking a proactive and organized Storeroom Leader to join our Dixie facility in St. Marys, GA. You’ll play a key role in receiving, shipping, and managing parts inventory, collaborating with vendors to resolve shipment discrepancies, issuing materials and requisitions, and analyzing inventory usage to maintain optimal stock levels. You’ll support maintenance operations, assist with part identification, ensure accurate recordkeeping, and operate material handling equipment.
This is an onsite role based at our facility in St. Marys, GA. This role works Monday – Friday, 7AM – 3PM.
Our team is part of Georgia-Pacific’s Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) organization, responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of critical materials and services supporting over 140 facilities nationwide. What You Will Do- Utilize Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, as well as SAP, EWM, Convergence, and other internal/external computer programs
- Read and understand instruction manuals, part nomenclature, training materials, and operating procedures
- Maintain accurate records and documentation using computer systems
- Document and update standard operating procedures as required
- Receive and ship parts to and from vendors
- Issue parts, materials, supplies, and purchase requisitions
- Conduct cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Perform physical and systematic put-away of parts in a timely and accurate manner
- Perform bin-to-bin movements and maintain or create storage bin locations
- Print and label unidentified parts and storage bins
- Conduct outgoing transfers of stockroom inventory to other company locations
- Lookup and initiate transfers from other locations as needed
- Work with vendors to resolve purchase order and shipment errors
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to coordinate inventory and resolve discrepancies
- Retrieve and analyze part usage history; assess and recommend min/max stock levels based on current and projected needs
- Identify functional differences between parts with similar descriptions or names
- Assist maintenance personnel with part lookup and identification
- Support planned maintenance by performing parts picking and returns
- Be familiar with work order processes and details
- Safely operate material handling equipment including work saver, pallet jack, dollies, carts, rolling stairs, and forklift
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment
- Maintain secure storeroom access and monitor for compliance
- Experience with Microsoft Office Word (creating documents), Excel (creating spreadsheets, utilizing formulas, analyzing data), and Outlook (scheduling meeting invites and emailing)
- Experience working as part of a multifunctional team and performing work with minimal supervision and guidance
- Currently possess or willing to obtain forklift certification
- Willing to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time – sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing ladders/stairs, working at heights
- Willing to lift at least 50 pounds
- Experience with SAP/EWM
