Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking an Electrician, High Voltage to support a government contract based in Kings Bay, Georgia. Under general supervision, the candidate will work at journey level performing duties associated with voltages above 600 volts. They must be familiar with safe working practices and requirements for phasing and hot‑glove work on energized 12.47kV systems and above.
Responsibilities include repairing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and/or replacing electrical controls, motors, switches, general street and security lighting, transformers, relays, breakers, and associated overhead/underground distribution equipment, including oil and air circuit breakers and AC/DC power supply and control systems. You must be willing to work holidays, weekends, and shift work, and may perform other related duties as assigned.

Procedure Compliance – Each employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to the job.
Qualifications- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completed a High Voltage Apprenticeship Program such as that offered by Jacksonville Electric Authority.
- Verifiable work history while performing journey‑level work on high‑voltage generation and distribution systems of 12.47kV and above for a minimum of two years.
- Knowledgeable with various types of electrical test equipment for routine maintenance/repair of high‑voltage transmission and distribution equipment.
- Capable of performing safe hot‑glove work on all energized systems as required.
- Knowledge of switches, transformers, and their hookups.
- Experience working at various heights, including from a bucket truck.
- CPR certified.
- Possess standard tools of the trade.
- Always wear hard‑toed safety shoes that meet ASTMF
2413‑05 standard. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Successful candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must continually meet eligibility requirements for access to all areas of Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay.
CompensationBase pay: $38.19 per hour. Original posting: 03/17/2026 – Until Filled. Amentum anticipates this requisition will remain open for at least three days, with a closing date no earlier than three days after the original posting. This timeline may change based on business needs.
