Morgan Advanced Materials Maintenance Mechanic
Morgan Advanced Materials, Performance Carbon business in St Marys, PA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic on 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:00pm). The ideal candidate will possess working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical repair.
Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Properly troubleshoot, adjust and repair all production and material-handling equipment
- Perform all tasks and duties necessary for efficient start-ups, daily operation, change-over and shut-downs
- Perform preventative maintenance on and/or repair production machines, heating, cooling and steam systems, material-handling equipment, as well as plumbing, and hydraulic/pneumatics equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair various mechanical systems
- Properly record preventative maintenance tasks
- Complete work orders as required
- Timely respond to maintenance calls on the production floor
- Assist in providing installation of new machinery
- Inventory spare parts and report usage; suggest re-order to maintenance lead
- Maintain neat and orderly work area, properly maintain tools
Job Qualification Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in troubleshooting and reading mechanical schematics
- Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems and ability and knowledge of gauges and measurements.
- Possesses hydraulic & pneumatic repair experience
- Machining, welding, fabrication and millwright experience is a plus
- Ability to communicate with production operators and other maintenance technicians to be able to explain mechanical processes and root causes
- Strong focus on safety and quality
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of walking and standing for up to twelve (12) hours per day
- Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
- Frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel material
- Constant use of hand/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel or handle and manipulate parts and tools
- Constant requirement of specific vision abilities including close vision, distant vision, depth perception
- Constantly wear appropriate PPE including but not limited to eye and foot protection
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, and around machinery and chemicals
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques and Company-provided equipment
