Health Insurance### Description St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a dynamic teacher of Science for Grades 7 & 8 (two sections each grade). The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic Catholic ready to work collaboratively with students, parents, and teachers. Possessing a spirit of innovation and creativity, this teacher will approach lesson design with student engagement, differentiation, high standards, and technology in mind while embedding the Catholic faith throughout the day.

Teaching responsibilities also include one section of middle level Religion. Knowledge of the Minnesota State Standards for Science and NWEA’s Measure of Academic Progress (MAPs) are most helpful.### QualificationsMN Teaching License with Middle School Endorsement preferred

Practicing Roman Catholic Experience teaching middle level science preferred

The ideal candidate will have:
* An understanding of, commitment to, and passion for the mission of Catholic education and being a credible witness of the Catholic faith
* Ability to contribute to a culture of: (1) faith in Christ and the Catholic Church that is mature, informed, accountable, and dynamically missionary; (2) respect for the dignity, freedom, responsibility, and social vocation of the human person made in God’s image; and (3) human excellence reinforced through high, yet reasonable expectations for learning and virtuous interactions among all members of the school community
* Understanding of best practices in science instruction
* A keen ability to relate with adolescents and be student-centered
* A willingness to collaborate with other teachers and make data-driven decisions
* High expectations and an enthusiastic approach to working with others
* Experience designing instruction and assessment aligned with MN science standards
* Experience integrating technology into both teaching and learning (use of SMART Boards, digital cameras, Chromebooks, and Google Classroom)
* Training in Responsive Classroom philosophy
