About the Opportunity
Job Title:
FSQA Technician
Pay Rate Range: $43,600.00 - $47,800.00 per year
Location:
St. Michael, MN
Schedule:
2nd Shift, Monday‑Friday 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM (flexible end times; occasional weekend overtime)
Position Type:
Direct Hire
- High school diploma required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferably in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or a related discipline.
- One or more years of QA experience.
- One or more years of meat processing experience and the ability to recognize different meat products (preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
- Detail‑oriented with excellent follow‑through skills.
- Familiarity with USDA/FDA regulations and willingness to become familiar with food safety standards.
- Willingness to complete quality‑specific training classes (e.g., HACCP Certification, SSOPs).
- Basic mathematical proficiency (fractions, decimals, percentages).
- Computer skills, keyboarding, and word processing experience.
- Ability to travel up to five percent of the time for business demands.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- English language proficiency (bi‑lingual English/Spanish preferred).
- Standing all day required.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate a pallet jack.
- Help ensure products meet quality and food safety standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Monitor production and warehouse operations to ensure food safety and quality requirements are followed.
- Inspect raw materials, in‑process products, and finished goods to verify compliance with company specifications.
- Perform quality checks and testing throughout manufacturing (including packaging, labeling, and product evaluations).
- Verify that production equipment and processes are operating correctly and within established guidelines.
- Monitor critical food safety checkpoints and report any concerns or issues.
- Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to identify and resolve quality or food safety concerns.
- Place products or equipment on hold when quality standards are not met.
- Assist with product testing, evaluations, and analysis as needed.
- Accurately complete quality and food safety records.
- Document inspection and testing results and communicate findings to the appropriate team members.
- Maintain organized and accurate records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
