Job Overview

Border States Paving, Inc. is a regional paving company located in Fargo, ND. We are hiring a Field Mechanic (Heavy Equipment) for the 2026 season to perform routine maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and trucks, and assist with maintenance of asphalt plants in ND/SD.

• Perform routine maintenance and repair on various heavy equipment and trucks.
• Diagnose problems and inspect equipment for defects.
• Maneuver equipment for maintenance and repairs.
• Engage welding, hydraulic, and electrical tasks as required.
• Support asphalt plant operations.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Moderate to heavy lifting, bending, reaching and stooping required.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL A preferred.
• Welding, hydraulic, and electrical experience preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety, flexibility for overtime, weekends, and extensive summer travel.
• Must pass pre‑employment urine drug screen.

Wages: $33.40+/hr plus $21.90/hr fringe (towards health insurance premiums & pension).

$350 weekly per diem and full benefit package.

Seasonal: APR‑NOV.
