Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our Quality, Health, and Safety Policy Team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Safety Administrator! This position will ensure a comprehensive safety, health, and risk management program for the assigned DCT facility(s) to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment of care for those we serve. The Safety Administrator will guide their respective sites toward compliance with all local, state, and federal standards, laws, and regulations relating to safety and emergency management and implement an effective occupational safety program to protect the health and well-being of all staff, patients/clients, and visitors.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program that provides a safe environment for people served and staff that will support the mission of DCT.
  • Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive programs that focus on employee health and safety and injury reduction. The Safety Administrator shall develop, implement, and maintain an effective occupational safety program at the assigned facilities.
  • Assist all assigned facilities to effectively respond to emergency and disaster situations, small and large, inside and outside the facility.
  • Develop and maintain a high degree of teamwork with the administration, directors, managers, supervisors, and staff members.
Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of professional safety and health experience in a large organization or healthcare setting that demonstrates the following:

  • Experience identifying occupational safety and health problems and to develop support and implement solutions.
  • Ensuring compliance with agencies such as The Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Department of Health and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state occupational safety and health rules and regulations, cumulative trauma injury prevention, ergonomics, techniques of injury prevention, and hazard evaluation.
  • A basic understanding of industrial hygiene.

Note:

A bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, occupational health, or related field may substitute for 1 year of experience. A master’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, occupational health, or related field may substitute for 2 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, occupational health, or related field.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist or Certified Safety Professional.
  • Healthcare experience in a setting such as a hospital or care setting.
