River's Edge Hospital & Clinic seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform complex testing that supports accurate diagnosis and high-quality patient care. In this role, you'll conduct hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, and transfusion services using advanced analyzers and LIS systems. Responsibilities include specimen processing, quality control, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and accurate result reporting. You'll collaborate closely with physicians and nurses, follow CLIA and CAP standards, support infection prevention and safety initiatives, and mentor staff in a patient-centered, community-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory testing across multiple disciplines (hematology, chemistry, microbiology, urinalysis, transfusion).
• Process and evaluate specimens to ensure integrity and suitability for testing.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and analyzers.
• Perform and document quality control and participate in proficiency testing.
• Verify, interpret, and accurately report results in the laboratory information system (LIS).
• Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to support timely patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Follow CLIA, CAP, and hospital policies for safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in process improvement, competency assessments, and staff training.
