Certified Sterile Processing Technician

River's Edge Hospital & Clinic seeks a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to support safe surgical care by cleaning, decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing instruments and equipment. In this patient-centered, community setting, you'll follow strict infection prevention standards, operate and monitor sterilization equipment, maintain accurate documentation, and manage instrument inventories. You'll collaborate closely with surgery and clinical teams, support quality and safety goals, and grow your skills in a supportive, team-focused environment committed to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, and disinfect surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
• Assemble, inspect, wrap, and label instrument trays and sets for surgical and procedural use.
• Operate, monitor, and document cycles for steam and low-temperature sterilizers and related equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of sterilization, biological indicators, and quality control checks.
• Manage inventory of instruments, disposables, and supplies; report or replace damaged or missing items.
• Collaborate with surgery and clinical teams to ensure timely availability of needed trays and equipment.
• Follow infection prevention, OSHA, AAMI, and hospital safety standards at all times.
• Participate in ongoing education, process improvement, and departmental quality initiatives.
