- Assist patients, residents, and clients with therapy activities and exercises under the supervision of an occupational therapist
- Provide, monitor, and record therapy services for individuals with physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial impairments
- Select, implement, and modify therapeutic activities and interventions according to competency, patient goals, practice setting, and state licensure requirements
- Exchange information with and provide documentation to the occupational therapist regarding patient responses and communications during interventions
- Track targeted occupational therapy outcomes and document outcome achievement
- Follow accepted clinical practice guidelines of the relevant professional organization
- Work, depending on location and facility needs, in post-acute, long-term care, and home health care environments
- Perform other related duties as requested
- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
- Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state(s) of practice
- Must be certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant through NBCOT when working at a Sanford Health Facility; certification is preferred, not required, for GSS Facilities
- Conforms to supervision and licensing standards of the state(s) where services are provided
- Valid driver's license may be required when applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of employment
- Ability to work 40 hours weekly on day shifts
- Ability to travel among assigned locations as needed
Demonstrates expertise in providing therapeutic activities and interventions under the supervision of an occupational therapist, while adhering to state licensure requirements and clinical practice guidelines. Proficient in tracking therapy outcomes and communicating effectively with healthcare teams.
