Position: Vice President for Finance and Auxiliaries and Chief Financial Officer
Gustavus Adolphus College is a nationally recognized residential liberal arts institution rooted in its Lutheran heritage and guided by enduring commitments to excellence, community, justice, service, and faith. Located in Saint Peter, Minnesota, Gustavus is known for close student-faculty relationships, a deeply engaged campus community, and an educational experience designed to prepare students not only for careers, but for lives of purpose and impact.

Through an innovative liberal arts curriculum, the College encourages students to explore broadly, think critically, and develop the confidence to lead in meaningful ways.

This is a defining moment for Gustavus. Under new presidential leadership and guided by a newly approved strategic plan, the College is advancing an ambitious vision to become a national model for a distinctive, lifelong liberal arts education. Strong enrollment trends, an engaged Board, and a commitment to mission-driven growth have positioned Gustavus to pursue long-term sustainability while continuing to strengthen the student experience.

The Opportunity:

Gustavus Adolphus College seeks a Vice President for Finance and Auxiliaries and Chief Financial Officer to serve as a strategic and operational leader during a period of institutional momentum and transformation.

Reporting directly to the President and serving as a key member of the senior leadership team, the VP/CFO will guide the financial and administrative functions of the College, including finance, facilities, payroll, and auxiliary services. This leader will play a central role in aligning institutional resources with strategic priorities, ensuring long-term financial sustainability while supporting the College's ambitious vision for growth and innovation.

The VP/CFO will have the opportunity to shape and modernize the College's financial infrastructure at a pivotal time. As transitions across the finance function create space for evolution, the next leader will help strengthen teams, refine budget models, enhance forecasting capabilities, and build a more data-informed approach to decision-making.

The role calls for a strategic thinker and strong communicator who can balance operational discipline with mission alignment, serving as a collaborative partner to academic and administrative leaders across campus.

The salary range for this role is $195,000 - $240,000.
