Overview
Vice President for Advancement. Gustavus Adolphus College is a nationally recognized residential liberal arts institution rooted in its Lutheran heritage and guided by commitments to excellence, community, justice, service, and faith. Located in Saint Peter, Minnesota, Gustavus emphasizes close student–faculty relationships, an engaged campus, and an educational experience designed to prepare students for lives of purpose and impact. Under new presidential leadership and a newly approved strategic plan, the College pursues a national model for a distinctive, lifelong liberal arts education.
The Vice President for Advancement will serve as a key member of the President's cabinet and as the institution's chief advancement officer, leading a comprehensive and integrated advancement enterprise at a transformative moment in Gustavus's history.
- Report directly to the President and help guide the execution of a bold, multi-year strategy focused on expanding philanthropic support and deepening alumni and constituent engagement.
- Lead campaign strategy, steward major and principal gift relationships, and cultivate new pathways for donor engagement, including corporate and foundation partnerships.
- Empower an energized advancement team and leverage data-informed strategies to elevate performance across the division.
- Collaborate with the President, Board of Trustees, and senior leadership to position Gustavus for sustained financial sustainability and institutional impact.
- Experience as an advancement executive with vision and operational rigor.
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to deploy data-informed strategies.
- Ability to lead a comprehensive advancement enterprise during a period of opportunity for growth.
The salary range for this position is $195,000–$230,000. Gustavus offers competitive and comprehensive benefits, including:
