Position Summary

Perform essential production duties in a compounding pharmacy, which includes operating powder machine(s) and related computer system, operation of tablet and capsule grinding equipment, and other large batch compounding functions in a non-sterile environment. This position also includes prepping medications for compounding purposes, assisting the pharmacists in day-to-day operations and shipping/receiving of finished products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs essential production operations (See above)
  • Follows all relevant safety protocols and practices
  • Follows all uniform, PPE, and hygiene policies as they apply to non-sterile compounding
  • Ensures correct weights & measurements for finished product
  • Packaging and shipping of finished product
  • Completes all relevant documentation following strict quality assurance programs
  • Performs daily cleaning of facilities and equipment
  • Completes necessary licensure, training, and continuing education requirements

Qualifications

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Language Ability

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Ability

Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates and Licenses

Will need to become a licensed pharmacy technician through the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
