Marketing and Communications Coordinator
The Church of St. Peter in Forest Lake, MN seeks a full‑time Marketing and Communications Coordinator to manage and enhance the Parish’s communication and marketing efforts across all channels.
OverviewThe role involves timely and accurate dissemination of information through the weekly bulletin, electronic communications, social media, and the Parish website. It also includes organizing and marketing key events to foster community engagement and supporting parish ministries to further the Mission of the Parish.
Key Responsibilities Parish Communications Weekly Parish Bulletin- Facilitate and manage bulletin marketing requests from key stakeholders.
- Coordinate the weekly bulletin theme and design.
- Compile, layout, and edit bulletin information and images.
- Proofread for accuracy.
- Upload publication for printing and oversee timely bulletin shipping.
- Oversee the printing and insertion of bulletin inserts.
- Coordinate and make timely, pertinent copy/cover changes with Liturgical Publications.
- Write, edit, and publish the weekly Flocknote publication.
- Manage the Flocknote database and collaborate with staff as subject‑matter expert.
- Respond to parishioner requests regarding the Flocknote tool.
- Develop and maintain social media avenues such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and You Tube.
- Create and distribute special email marketing materials and announcements as required.
- Update parish kiosks and outdoor signage as appropriate.
- Oversee ongoing development of the Parish website.
- Complete all software updates in a timely manner.
- Execute weekly updates of published event schedules, bulletins, and meeting minutes.
- Incorporate important Archdiocesan events and information.
- Manage and respond to new parishioner signup forms and coordinate database updates.
- Add links to other sites as appropriate and keep information current and user‑friendly.
- Create and implement marketing plans for major parish events.
- Set up and manage electronic giving pages and QR codes.
- Manage sponsorship requests for the Fall Festival fundraiser.
- Create signage and recognition for special event donors.
- Provide strategic direction for all marketing and branding.
- Assist department heads with their activity marketing.
- Develop a marketing plan to recruit and welcome new parishioners.
- Partner with the People Coordinator to market volunteer roles.
- Manage all parish bulletin boards with ministries and groups.
- Provide administrative support to the Business Administrator with special projects.
- Assist with Fish Fry and Fall Festival activities.
- Help parish members with questions and requests.
- Assist with mailings as needed.
- Attend required meetings.
- Collaborate with staff and departments to accomplish the Parish mission.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 4‑year degree, preferably in English or Communications.
- 1–3 years of related experience.
- Graphic art skills and knowledge of copyright laws.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher.
- Experience with Flocknote, Canva, Squarespace, Photoshop, and InDesign preferred.
- Previous website design experience.
- Excellent written, oral, and editing skills.
- Strong command of grammar and the English language.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with parishioners and staff.
- Work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain organization.
- Execute high‑quality, accurate work.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Proactively market parish activities locally.
- Collaborate effectively with staff, volunteers, and the community.
- Work 32–40 hours per week, including events.
- Lift up to 25 pounds, sit for long periods, and use a keyboard.
$36,600 – $49,920 per year.
