Overview
The Forensic Nursing Home is seeking Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) applicants to perform entry-level practical nurse duties while providing quality therapeutic and person-centered care to people with mental and physical health issues. Under the direction of the charge nurse, work is performed according to established rules and procedures. Entry-level LPN duties may include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Administer medications, treatments, and other therapies following the practitioner’s orders and treatment plan for the client.
- Assist the client in developing optimal independence in living or assist with activities of daily living as needed.
- Complete assigned unit tasks and maintain accurate documentation.
- Monitor, report, and document interactions with clients; collect and report data about physical and mental health needs; assist the RN in planning and implementing the nursing plan of care and/or multidisciplinary plans.
- Respond to emergencies promptly to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Maintain professional boundaries and support a positive, diverse, and respectful environment.
- Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
- Current licensure in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse.
- Future Practical Nurses within six (6) months of graduating and taking the NCLEX-LPN are encouraged to apply. Contingent offers may be made upon successful degree completion and passing of NCLEX-LPN.
