Job SummaryThe Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a residential, sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides services to over 700 individuals who have been civilly committed for sexual offending . MSOP is a national leader in the industry and is committed to providing services on the leading edge of the comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and management of clients .
As a Registered Nurse with MSOP you will provide direct professional nursing care to clients in a therapeutic environment where safety and security are at the forefront of all campus activities. MSOP serves people who are court ordered to receive sex offender treatment via the civil commitment process.
Primary
Responsibilities Include:
Performs nursing procedures, interventions andduties such as medication administration, assessment of client needs and skills, Develops and implements client-specific nursing care plans that assist in developing healthy independent living and coping skills.
Works as part of larger care team providing clients with comprehensive treatment which includes completing health assessment reports, participating in review meetings, providing pertinent information to members of the treatment team as required to support overall client health. This includes documenting in client records as appropriate.
Coordinate and review the work of other nursing staff as needed.
Follow and enforce all security, safety and legal requirements to ensure a safe and secure facility so clients receive quality professional services in a therapeutic environment.
Serving as a positive role model to clients, demonstrating effective professional and personal behavior.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
To be considered, applicants must meet the qualifications below:
Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota (or MN License eligible if coming from another state)
Future Registered Nurses who are within six (6) months of graduating and taking their NCLEX-RN are encouraged to apply. Contingent job offers may be made upon successful completion of degree and passing of NCLEX-RN
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Experience working within a mental health or behavioral health care setting.
