About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Hackensack Meridian Health provides direct care to a variety of complex patients, focusing on achieving desired outcomes through effective collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health.
• Perform age and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patients.
• Develop and coordinate patient-centered plans of care.
• Communicate and implement the plan of care effectively.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Administer medications using advanced bar-scanning technologies.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of patient outcomes.
• Identify ethical issues and enhance patient satisfaction.
• Maintain competencies and adhere to nursing standards.

Education:

• BSN preferred and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire

Experience:

• Six (6) months of relevant nursing experience required
• 1 year or more of acute care nursing experience strongly preferred
• Emergency department experience preferred

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license required
• Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification required
• ACLS preferred
• PALS preferred
