Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Position Purpose

In the Emergency Department (ED) at Johnson Memorial Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering care to emergent and critical patients.

Full Time

12 Hour Night Shift

• Engage in didactic learning sessions designed to enhance understanding of Emergency Department nursing, with a focus on utilizing a state‑of‑the‑art simulation lab.
• Apply critical thinking skills to manage high‑acuity and complex patients effectively.

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school
• Valid RN License in Connecticut

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• One or more years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• One year of acute inpatient nursing experience considered for training
• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• ACLS & TNCC certification required within three months of hire

• Full Time – 36 hours per week, nights
• Every other weekend/holiday
• Hourly position, included in the RN Step Program pay range: $40.20 to $61.95
