Position Purpose

The 12-month Nurse Residency Program at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, CT supports newly graduated RNs — or RNs with less than one year of experience — as they transition from entry‑level practice to professional competence. The program provides structured education, clinical support, and guided experience to build confidence and core nursing skills.

The 12-month Nurse Residency Program at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, CT supports newly graduated RNs — or RNs with less than one year of experience — as they transition from entry‑level practice to professional competence. The program provides structured education, clinical support, and guided experience to build confidence and core nursing skills.

• Develop clinical judgment and decision‑making
• Deliver safe, evidence‑based, people‑centered care
• Build leadership skills at the bedside
• Apply research and best practices in daily care
• Learn through collaboration with educators, preceptors, and peers.

• Graduated or projected to graduate from an accredited nursing program
• Less than 12 months of RN experience
• Valid Connecticut RN license required before orientation.
  * RN license number must be provided on the Monday before orientation

• All New Graduate RN roles are Full‑Time (36 hrs/week)
• Blended learning with classroom, simulation, and skills labs
• Support from experienced preceptors and clinical educators
• Focus on quality, safety, communication, and professional growth
• Participation in an Evidence‑Based Practice (EBP) project
• Opportunities across a variety of specialty units (based on availability)
