Position: Assembly Inspector - 3rd Shift - 90 Day Increase Eligible

Scope of Work

Perform required inspections and complete quality department documentation, including first‑article inspections (FAIs). Support Program Managers and production workers with quality issues. Program and utilize CMM equipment and evaluate results. Conduct tool calibrations and assist with disposition of other quality decisions.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and communicate with departments to initiate the FAIR.
  • Ensure the FAIR is prepared in an organized, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Perform dimensional inspection of parts and tools using mechanical measuring devices such as pin gauges, hand calipers, CMM, and micrometers.
  • Monitor and produce product quality by initiating actions to prevent nonconformity, identifying and recording quality problems, recommending solutions, verifying implementation, and controlling further processing of nonconforming products until deficiencies are corrected.
  • Work with chemicals such as alcohol and acrylics; handle hazardous wastes under guidance of the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager.
  • Report all accidents, near misses, and safety concerns; maintain a clean, safe work environment; and communicate safety hazards to supervisors.
  • Perform job duties utilizing required personal protective equipment and participate fully in safety training.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
  • General math skills and understanding of mechanical measuring concepts.
  • Proficiency with hand measuring tools such as calipers and gauges.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Internet, Email).
  • Knowledge of AS9100C, AS9102 standards, and FAI procedures.
  • Good English communication and mathematical skills.
  • Strong visual skills (reading vision, color discrimination, depth perception).
  • Team player, detailed‑oriented, well‑organized, and with conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work up to 10 hours a day, flexible overtime, lift up to 40 pounds, adjust to changing environment, and cross‑train across positions.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required. Previous manufacturing and/or aerospace industry experience preferred.

  • c) following authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL);
  • d) understanding the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US;
  • e) managing vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
