  • Develop design variations of existing parts, for example,
  • Design new flow cages with revised flow-curve requirements.
  • Design valve bodies with new end-connection configurations.
  • Interpret specifications and adapt existing valve body drawings to prepare new drawings and parts lists for revised end connections.
  • Generate detailed fabrication, machining, assembly, and general arrangement (GA) drawings from design layouts, sketches, markups, and engineering direction.
  • Apply appropriate dimensioning and geometric tolerancing (GD&T) based on drawing function, manufacturing requirements, and established company precedent.
  • Review drawings to ensure completeness, clarity, accuracy, and consistency prior to release.
  • Prepare accurate parts lists and drawing packages to support purchasing, manufacturing, and assembly operations.
  • Maintain drafting standards, drawing organization, revision practices, and document control requirements.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Quality to resolve drawing-related issues and improve documentation.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience with Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling software – strong knowledge of drafting techniques and standards.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional tolerancing and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and develop mechanical drawings and related documentation.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, and drafting standards relevant to industrial products.
  • Ability to create complete drawings and parts lists with minimal day-to-day supervision from the Design Engineer.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to producing clear and reliable documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in valve manufacturing, industrial equipment, or related mechanical product design.
  • Familiarity with company drawing standards, title block practices, revision control, and release procedures.
  • Experience supporting Engineering Change Notices/Orders (ECN/ECO) or drawing revision processes.
  • Associate degree, technical training, or equivalent experience in drafting, design technology, or a related field.
Work Characteristics
