Western Eco Systems Technology, Inc. (WEST) seeks a full‑time Consulting Biologist – Project Manager for its Stafford, TX office. The role involves managing wildlife survey projects across diverse industries and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities- Administration of projects
- Prepare reports, proposals, and provide quality assurance of data.
- Environmental consulting
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, federal and state agencies.
- Provide technical expertise and team‑oriented approaches to projects.
- Oversee projects including leading and organizing
- Pre‑construction, post‑construction mortality monitoring for renewable energy, linear and other development projects.
- Wildlife field design and setup of field studies.
- Supervision
- Manage project teams, deliverables, and budgets for multiple projects.
- Train and manage field coordinators and technicians.
- Supervise and direct field studies and staff.
- Promote health and safety.
- Market WEST's capabilities
- Foster current business relationships and promote new business development efforts.
- Occasional overnight travel for one or more nights.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biological studies, natural resources, wildlife management, wildlife biology or equivalent.
- Previous professional experience in environmental consulting with expertise in avian and/or bat ecology; experience in wetland delineation, plant identification, threatened and endangered species, or other ecological areas is also considered.
- Experience with interpretation of statistical analysis.
- Previous project management experience (5+ years) including budgeting, proposal writing, consulting work, and professional scientific experience.
- Track record of maintaining positive relationships with coworkers, clients or stakeholders.
- Strong, competent writing and oral communication skills with attention to detail and accurate reporting of scientific methods and results of field studies.
- Wildlife biology technical knowledge and knowledge of regional wildlife.
