Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation of proposals and quotes for FCV, REG, and PM business units, including valve sizing, selection, delivery and pricing to facilitate product sales.
  • Interact with customers on a day‑to‑day basis, primarily by phone and email, providing technical, commercial and general sales support.
  • Evaluate RFQ’s for technical, commercial, documentation, and logistical requirements to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements.
  • Evaluate customer requirements identifying opportunities for expansion of product supply scope.
  • Manage workload and engage available internal and external resources as required to meet customer‑imposed deadlines.
  • Manage change of customer requirements to quotations and active orders reducing non‑conformance while driving customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively follow up with customers on quotations achieving a high rate of conversion to orders and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Organize and participate in pre‑award and post‑award meetings to ensure clear communication of customer requirements and expectations to other employees and principals.
  • Direct Project Coordinator and Pricing Analyst in post award activities as required to ensure customer expectations are exceeded and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical proficiency with products in FCV, REG, and PM business units.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of proficiency with internal business systems and valves sizing tools provided by principal manufacturers.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of all products and services provided by Puffer‑Sweiven to identify opportunities to expand the scope of supply in a project.
  • Assist Outside Sales in achieving the Strategic Goals of assigned accounts.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements to team processes and tools that will improve efficiency and increase customer dependency.
Qualifications Education/Knowledge/Experience
  • BS/BA degree preferred or combination of applicable education and experience.
  • Experience in or technical knowledge of control valves, pressure regulators, and/or relief valves. Relevant experience in industrial process industries.
  • 3‑5 years as an inside sales representative or equivalent in a technical sales environment.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong PC proficiency including MS Office, Valve sizing tools and methodology, internal business systems, and internet.

  • Ability to track and coordinate multiple moving parts across departments, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and internal goals.
  • Strong customer service skills including the ability to develop rapport and trust with customers and other employees.
  • Proactive problem‑solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • High ethical standards in dealing with customers, principals, and employees.
