Job Summary
IES Residential, Inc. is seeking a dependable Multi-Trade Helper to support electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work. This hands‑on position is for someone eager to learn, work safely, and assist skilled tradespeople across multiple areas of construction, service, and maintenance. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-minded, can follow directions, and is comfortable working in an active jobsite or facility environment.
ResponsibilitiesThe Multi-Trade Helper will assist licensed or experienced technicians with tasks including:
- Electrical support: pulling wire, setting boxes, installing conduit, and organizing electrical materials; assisting with fixture, device, and panel‑related tasks under supervision; maintaining clean and safe electrical work areas.
- Plumbing support: assisting with pipe installation, fittings, supports, and basic plumbing rough‑in tasks; helping with material handling, layout support, and cleanup; supporting repairs, testing, and general plumbing work as directed.
- HVAC support: assisting with ductwork, equipment placement, line sets, vents, and HVAC material setup; helping technicians with installation, maintenance, and jobsite preparation; carrying tools, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently.
- General duties: follow all safety procedures and company policies; maintain tools, materials, and work areas in an organized manner; communicate clearly with supervisors, technicians, and team members; perform jobsite cleanup and material staging; work respectfully in an education center environment; complete other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; previous experience in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, maintenance, or general labor preferred.
- Minimum years of experience: 0–2 years.
- Willingness to learn multiple trades; ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials as needed; comfortable standing, bending, climbing ladders, and working in various jobsite conditions.
- Dependable, punctual, and safety‑focused; ability to pass required pre‑employment screenings such as background check and MVR.
- Stand, walk, sit, bend, climb, and move throughout job sites and uneven terrain.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather, and handle construction noise, dust, and other job site conditions.
- Use of tools, testing equipment, and safety gear such as personal protective equipment.
- Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology.
- Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
- Dependable transportation and commitment to punctual, reliable on‑site attendance.
