Swim Lessons Coordinator

The City of Stafford Aquatic Staff ensures the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. The City is now a hiring swim lessons coordinator for the season. Below is a list of the skills needed to be a member of the Stafford Aquatic Staff.

• Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services (lifeguards).
• Always presents professional appearance and attitude and maintains a high standard of customer service.
• Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Responsible for managing the facility and staff in the absence of the Pool Manager/Assistant Manager.

• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques (lifeguards).
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department (lifeguards).
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures (lifeguards).
• Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend manuals and forms, accurately complete all paperwork as required, following the established procedures.

– Must be at least 17 years of age, 2 years of experience is required. The Swim Lessons Coordinator is responsible for ensuring lessons participants are placed in the correct level/class and all necessary paperwork is correctly completed and all classes staffed by City of Stafford Lifeguards. Responsible for ensuring all City of Stafford Lifeguards are trained in the correct implementation of swimming lessons to ensure all patrons have the chance to be successful.

The Swim Lessons Coordinator is also responsible for managing the facility and staff in the absence of the Pool Manager/Assistant Manager.
