Warehouse Technician

Description

This individual will be responsible for ordering, receiving, documenting freight and packages, placing stock in proper areas, checking out stock to employees, overseeing inventory in warehouses, and managing and placing orders for future work.

• Inspect, refill (recharge), and test fire extinguishers (ABC dry chemical, CO2 under supervision)
• Assist with high-pressure hydrostatic testing of cylinders
• Clean, prep, recondition (sandblast/paint), and tag cylinders for service
• Load/unload trucks, receive deliveries, manage stock, and prepare equipment for field technicians
• Assist walk‑in customers with drop‑off/pick‑up of extinguishers
• Maintain accurate service records and follow OSHA/DOT/NFPA regulations
• Clean warehouse: daily pick up trash and sweep; keep inventory organized on shelves and off the floor; put up incoming inventory daily
• Work returns and credits; pull material for pick tickets; look for inventory with low stock levels; help with Will Call pickups
• Drive standup and sit down forklift; perform daily cycle counts; help with physical inventory
• Any other task assigned

• Previous experience in a warehouse, shop, or fire safety setting is preferred
• Must be able to lift and move equipment over 50 lbs (up to 75 lbs in some tasks)
• Dependable transportation
• Self‑starter, computer literate, well organized, strong customer skills, good driving skills, excellent communication skills
• Ability to use hand tools and learn technical, hands‑on tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license; ability to pass background checks/drug screens
• Forklift experience a plus but not required; potential for apprenticeships to obtain state‑specific fire extinguisher licenses
