IMSolutions is seeking an Acquisition SME II to support a future opportunity with a federal agency anticipated to begin in September 2026
.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Remote/Hybrid as authorized by the Government and Company as requested by the government.

Position Summary

The Acquisition SME II serves as a senior acquisition subject matter expert, providing strategic and operational support across the full federal acquisition lifecycle. This position requires extensive experience in acquisition planning, source selection, proposal evaluation, cost and price analysis, contract administration, performance management, and contract closeout.

The Acquisition SME II will provide expert guidance to government stakeholders on acquisition strategies, procurement policies, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will possess expert-level knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and demonstrated experience supporting complex federal acquisition programs and procurement initiatives.

These functions include:
  • Provide expert acquisition support throughout all phases of the federal acquisition lifecycle.
  • Support acquisition planning activities, including acquisition strategy development, market research, and procurement planning.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of acquisition documentation, including acquisition plans, source selection plans, solicitations, and contract-related documents.
  • Conduct proposal evaluations, including technical, management, and past performance assessments.
  • Perform detailed cost and price analyses to assess proposal reasonableness, realism, and compliance with acquisition requirements.
  • Review contractor proposals and provide recommendations regarding award decisions and negotiation strategies.
  • Support source selection activities and provide acquisition advisory services to contracting and program offices.
  • Prepare acquisition-related policies, procedures, guides, templates, and best practice recommendations.
  • Interpret and apply Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) requirements and agency-specific acquisition guidance.
  • Support contract administration activities, including modifications, performance monitoring, issue resolution, and compliance assessments.
  • Assist with contractor performance management and evaluation processes.
  • Support contract closeout activities and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and agency requirements.
  • Analyze acquisition processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Develop reports, briefings, white papers, acquisition memoranda, and executive-level presentations.
  • Provide acquisition guidance and recommendations to program managers, contracting officers, and senior government leadership.
  • Support audits, acquisition reviews, and internal compliance assessments.
  • Conduct research and analysis of acquisition regulations, policies, and emerging procurement trends.
  • Participate in acquisition review boards, evaluation panels, meetings, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior acquisition professionals and project team members.
  • Support special acquisition initiatives and strategic procurement efforts as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Acquisition Management, Public Administration, Contract Management, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience supporting federal acquisition, procurement, or contracting activities.
  • Extensive experience supporting the full acquisition lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience with acquisition planning, source selection, contract administration, performance management, and contract closeout.
  • Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations and procurement policies.
  • Experience performing cost and price analysis and evaluating contractor proposals.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
