The CGS Academic Support, Engagement and Outreach Coordinator will monitor student academic progress, provide students with academic support, assist faculty with instructional enrichment activities, manage the student information system, support recruiting and retention efforts, and manage stakeholder communication tools, including the website and social media.
Work Objectives/Essential Functions Monitor & Promote Student Academic Progress- Monitor student academic progress, attendance, and overall performance
- Assist in identifying students in need of academic or organizational support
- Identify and communicate academic opportunities for students beyond the classroom
- Develop and coordinate student support and intervention plans in collaboration with faculty, counselors, families, and administrators
- Communicate progress and student follow-up efforts
- Consult with appropriate school personnel, parents, and community agencies as needed
- Maintain and update the CGS website in collaboration with the director and outsourced web designers to enhance website functionality and user experience
- Manage and coordinate CGS social media platforms and digital communications
- Create and distribute program announcements, newsletters, forms, promotional materials, and informational content
- Support communication efforts related to events, student achievements, field experiences, and program initiatives
- Manage and maintain the CGS Student Information System (SIS)
- Coordinate annual student enrollment, withdrawals, course assignments, and data rollover procedures
- Maintain accurate student demographic, academic, and contact information
- Import, verify, and manage student grade data from participating school divisions
- Assist with GPA calculations, probation tracking, and culminating grade management
- Maintain educational records and reports in accordance with applicable policies and confidentiality requirements
- Coordinate the CGS student recruitment and admissions support process.
- Assist the Director with recruitment events, informational sessions, outreach activities, and communication campaigns
- Develop communication materials, presentations, digital content, and outreach resources for prospective students and families
- Support faculty with planning and coordination of field experiences and program events
- Assist with logistics, communication, documentation, and operational planning for student activities
- Coordinate and support the CGS Summer Enrichment Program, including communication, registration, scheduling, and operational logistics
Education Attainment (Required): Bachelor’s degree in education or related content area
Education Attainment (Preferred): Master’s degree in educational leadership, school leadership, counseling, or instruction from an accredited college or university
Relevant Experience (Required): Three (3) years of successful, full-time experience as a teacher, counselor, or supervisor/administrator in a K-12 school environment or a public or private day school
Relevant Experience (Preferred): Experience with gifted or advanced learners
Industry Licensure or Certifications (Required): Professional License issued by the Virginia Board of Education, or eligibility for same
Industry Licensure or Certifications (Preferred): Postgraduate Professional Certificate from the Virginia Board of Education with the Administration and Supervision endorsement, School Counseling endorsement, Gifted endorsement, or eligibility for same
Knowledge- Public school instructional strategies, administration responsibilities, and support activities

- Leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents
