Senior/Principal Engineer – Thermal Systems

Senior/Principal Engineer – Thermal Systems required for a contract or permanent role in Staffordshire.

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to define/deliver an important aspect of the Company's road map to machines with high energy efficiency. Delivering innovations providing progressive feature and functionality for thermal and HVAC systems integrated into the Company's products.

Responsibilities will include:

• Delivery of a machine thermal management strategy, specifying associated HVAC and machine thermal management systems and hardware and the integration of these systems into a variety of machine architectures.
• Working alongside machine project engineers and internal and external supply partners to deliver robust, compliant and flexible solutions to meet machine level requirements.
• A keen focus on delivery milestones and a failure mode avoidance mind set.
• Involvement in the development of innovative solutions to the Company's future engineering challenges.

Qualifications and Experience required:

• 2 years + experience in automotive HVAC and thermal management
• University Degree (or equivalent) in Automotive or Mechanical engineering
• Current full UK driving licence
• Working knowledge of all aspects of vehicle engineering
• Familiar with CAD and Product Life cycle Management systems
• Clear analytical understanding of multi-phase heat transfer and dissipation models
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles and keen analytical skills
• Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions +55C to
  -30C and confined spaces
• Hands-on approach to engineering with a "get on and do it now" attitude
• Strong communication skills, fluent in English with clear logical thinking
• Organisational and coordination ability to drive tasks independently
• Ability to work in a complex environment and negotiate progressive compromise
• Ability to manage and organise off-site test activities
• Task orientated with high attention to detail
