The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the face of our company to patients who come in as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR III draws quality blood samples and prepares specimens for laboratory testing while following established practices and procedures. This role has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.
The PSR III demonstrates Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor’s office, patient service center, or other locations as business needs dictate.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM with rotational Saturdays 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
- Maintain a safe and professional environment
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm proper labeling
- Maintain required records and documentation
- Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public
- Travel to and cover multiple Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice
- Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision
- Keyboard and data entry experience
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
Experience:
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
- Minimum 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
- Venipuncture and specimen collection expertise
- Patient demographic verification and documentation accuracy
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
