Job Summary and PurposeThe Network Technician is a member of the technology services team responsible for the administration and maintenance of technology systems for Stafford County Public Schools. The role includes district-level system administration, maintenance of server and network infrastructure, deployment and management of IT-managed endpoint devices, and providing technical support to technicians and end users. Responsibilities also include documentation and training support for SCPS technology systems.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a systems administrator for key district technology systems including user, workflow, and endpoint management systems.
- Troubleshoot technology issues, follow up with affected staff, and coordinate with support vendors as needed.
- Collaborate with the Engineering and Operations team to manage and maintain the division’s server and network infrastructure.
- Assist with endpoint device deployments and manage documentation of SCPS technology systems.
- Provide technician and user training on SCPS technology systems.
- Prioritize, schedule, and respond to work requests in a timely manner.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in network, device, and/or user system administration.
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent experience.
- CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Linux+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Administrator, Google Workspace Administrator, or other comparable industry certification in network or systems administration.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of endpoint management systems, network/server infrastructure monitoring systems, productivity suites and platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace), and wired/wireless TCP/IP networking.
- Demonstrable ability to write and maintain technical documentation.
- Strong research skills to troubleshoot and implement solutions.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
