Data Scientist – Supporting Department of Veterans Affairs Program (Contingent Role)

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join our team in supporting a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) program. This is a contingent position, with employment contingent upon the successful award of the contract. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a passion for data‑driven decision‑making, and a commitment to supporting veteran services through innovative data solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to extract actionable insights relevant to VA program objectives
  • Develop and implement statistical models, algorithms, and data processing techniques to support program goals
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify data needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in accordance with VA and organizational standards
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in data science and analytics

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience in data analysis, modeling, and visualization
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Experience with data management tools and platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SAS)
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights clearly
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Knowledge of healthcare or government programs is a plus

Must be a U.S. Citizen who is able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
