Build the Future with Us — Equipment Share is Hiring a Heavy Equipment Traveling Field Technician (Mechanic) ($2,000 Sign-On Bonus)
We’re hiring a Traveling Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) who will support our branches in Virginia and Maryland. The role requires maintenance and repair of customer and company‑owned heavy equipment and aerial lifts, providing high‑quality service while traveling through the specified states.
Territory: Virginia and Maryland
Salary:
- Tech I: $22-$30
- Tech II: $27-$35
- Tech III: $32-$40
- Tech IV: $37-$45
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with overtime pay after 40 hours. The role is subject to on‑call scheduling with additional compensation provided.
Primary Responsibilities- Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment.
- Use technology such as laptops and tablets to create, assign, and monitor work orders.
- Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.
- Assist in training lower‑level technicians as needed.
- Maintain electronic documentation of work performed on a daily basis.
- Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
- Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred).
- When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer‑owned equipment; maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
- Participate in year‑round company‑provided OEM training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
- Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
- High School diploma; trade school certificate preferred.
- Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle.
- Must be able to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Field Technicians may be required to be clean shaven to enter worksites for customers who have this requirement.
- Position requires passing a drug screen; safety is a priority.
