Mechanic, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

Sodexo is seeking an Appliance Mechanic to support our Technical & Maintenance team within our Facilities & Maintenance operations. This role installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a variety of commercial and institutional appliances (refrigeration, ovens, dishwashers, laundry, and small equipment). The mechanic performs preventive maintenance, reads schematics, diagnoses electrical and mechanical issues, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, customer focused, able to work independently, and committed to Sodexo's culture of safety, diversity, and service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and institutional appliances (refrigeration, cooking, dishwashing, and laundry equipment).
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control issues using schematics, meters, and manufacturer documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders, parts usage, and maintenance history in CMMS or similar systems.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, codes, and Sodexo policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with facility staff and vendors to plan repairs and equipment replacements.
• Order and manage parts and supplies needed for appliance maintenance and repair.
• Provide timely, customer-focused service to minimize disruption to facility operations.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency repair requests as needed.
• Support a culture of safety, diversity, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
