Principal​/Sr. Principal Software Engineer TS SCI

Overview

Northrop Grumman, Defense Systems, is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Software Engineer to work on the Whisper programs in Stafford, Virginia. The Whisper program is a large antenna-based RF transmission and receiving network platform. We use command and control software to remotely control multiple systems worldwide.

• Perform software development and maintenance.
• Assist with requirements: application design, code development, testing, and code maintenance.

• Position is a dual-level opportunity. Eligible levels:
  Level 3 or Level 4.
• Level 3:
  Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience OR Master's with 3 years OR High School diploma with 9 years.
• Level 4:
  Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience OR Master's with 6 years OR High School diploma with 12 years.
• Work on-site at Stafford, Virginia.
• Programming experience with Java, C, Bash, Python.
• Familiarity with Windows and RHEL.
• TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain a CI polygraph.
• Prior to start obtain IAT Level II or higher (Security+).
• Familiarity with compliance/vulnerability monitoring tools such as Nessus, HBSS, ACAS.

• Experience with Java Swing, multi-threaded and distributed Java applications, Java Web application servers (e.g., Tomcat, JBoss, Wildfly).
• Knowledge of relational databases (JDBC, SQL, MySQL), JEE (EJB/JPA), web services (RESTful).
• Experience with backup/recovery software (Hycu, others), Nutanix or VMWare environments.
• Experience with Elastic Search Stack (ELK), web GUI front-end development (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Angular).
• Hardening Linux OS and applications to required configurations (DISA STIGs).
• Configuration management with version control tools (Jira, Bamboo, Stash, GIT, Subversion).
• Risk Management Framework (RMF) familiarity.
• Linux and/or Windows system administration experience.
