Billing Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to support the billing and accounts receivable process by preparing invoices, verifying billing data, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely and accurate invoicing. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with internal departments and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare, review, and issue accurate customer invoices in a timely manner

+ Verify billing data, rates, contracts, purchase orders, and supporting documentation before invoicing

+ Research and resolve billing discrepancies, customer questions, and invoice disputes

+ Maintain customer account information and ensure billing records are up to date

+ Reconcile billing activity and assist with accounts receivable follow-up as needed

+ Work closely with sales, customer service, operations, and accounting teams to resolve billing issues

+ Process credits, rebills, adjustments, and account corrections as necessary

+ Support month-end close by preparing billing reports and ensuring invoices are posted accurately

+ Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

+ Identify opportunities to improve billing accuracy and streamline processes

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 2+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or related accounting support experience

+ Strong understanding of billing processes and invoice reconciliation

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP or accounting systems

+ High level of accuracy and attention to detail

+ Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

+ Effective written and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

+

Experience with high-volume invoicing

+ Familiarity with customer contracts, pricing structures, and purchase orders

+ Experience in industries such as healthcare, professional services, distribution, or manufacturing

+ Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
