Compensation:
Position OverviewThe Staff Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the month-end close process. This position involves preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities- Prepare and post monthly journal entries with supporting documentation.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
- Perform balance sheet and bank account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Support cash management activities, including cash reporting and reconciliations.
- Reconcile high-volume payment, disbursement, and customer transaction activity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, including month-end close processes.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Net Suite, Sage Intacct, or Quick Books.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in fintech, banking, financial services, or payments industry.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting.
- Exposure to audit support and financial statement preparation.
- Knowledge of payment processing and transaction reconciliation.
- Experience working in a regulated financial services environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
- Continuing education in accounting standards and financial regulations preferred.
