Staff Accountant

We are looking for a staff accountant to support financial operations for a family office and hedge fund environment in Stamford, Connecticut. This position will handle core accounting activities, contribute to accurate month-end reporting, and provide responsive support to clients and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and payables, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a financial services setting.

Responsibilities:

• Process invoices and payments accurately while maintaining organized accounts payable records and ensuring timely disbursements.
• Perform regular bank and brokerage account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger activity to support complete and accurate financial records.
• Assist with the month-end close process, including account analysis, reporting schedules, and financial statement support.
• Produce recurring financial reports for investment and family office accounts with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Support client service needs by responding to financial inquiries and providing clear, precise accounting information.
• Monitor daily and periodic cash activity to help ensure transactions are recorded correctly and balances are up to date.
