Senior Accountant
Location: Stamford, CT
Schedule: In-Office (Minimum 4 Days per Week)
Compensation: $85-100K
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the accounting team during a critical reporting and audit cycle. This role will be responsible for assisting with month-end close activities, account reconciliations, accounts payable functions, audit support, and various accounting projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the accurate and timely completion of monthly accounting close processes.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Support accounts payable activities, including invoice processing and payment application.
- Compile and prepare documentation for external auditors during annual financial statement audits.
- Assist with data reconciliation and accounting system integrations related to acquisitions or business transitions.
- Perform financial analyses and support special projects as needed.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on accounting and reporting initiatives.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting external audits.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Background in complex accounting operations, consolidations, or acquisition integrations is a plus.
